Basketball Queensland (BQ) is pleased to reveal our new junior representative calendar, set to come into effect for the 2021/22 season. Starting with the Under 18s, the upcoming representative cycle will see a reduced overlap in age groups running simultaneously, with competitions aligned to school terms and Basketball Australia’s Australian Junior Championships (AJC), and no change in the amount of games played.

The South Queensland Junior Basketball Competition (SQJBC, formerly known as BQJBC) is a representative competition conducted in the south-east region of Queensland. The competition caters for Under 12 to Under 21 age groups in both boys and girls.

2021 U18 State Champs Draw. The official draw for the Queensland U18 State Championships hosted by Gold Coast Basketball is now available.
Their 2021-22 schedule will be: Term 2 2021 – Northside Wizards Rep Ready Program, followed by U18 selection trials prior to the June/July school holidays Term 3 2021 – Selected U18 teams/squads Team Preparation, followed by grading prior to the Sept/Oct school holidays Term 4 2021 – SQJBC games and finals
The Southern Districts Representative program is one of the strongest and largest programs in Queensland with more than 30 teams in U12, U14, U16, U18 and U21 SQJBC competitions. Southern Districts nominate between two and four representative teams per age group each year to compete.
The top tier of the Basketball Queensland (BQ) elite development pathway, the National Performance Program ( NPP ) is a dedicated and intensive program for Queensland’s elite basketball athletes, providing development, training and support for athletes identified at the national & international level.
